Claremont Landscape Gardens
Today was hot but not as unbearably warm as the weekend. My sister came with me to walk Xena - not being much of a walker she stopped to sit on a bench while I went and did another loop, and Xena was most disturbed that she was not with us, she kept looking back and wanting to go back to her - when we completed our loop and Xena saw her again she was very relieved.
After our walk we went to get groceries, it is always fun to see the products in a country different to your own, and to compare prices. When we first moved to the UK over two decades ago the UK prices were a shock compared to the food prices in South Africa. Nowadays many things are much cheaper here.
I made us a salad for lunch with quinoa, roasted butternut, roasted beetroot and other salad items. We had planned to go to RHS Wisley after lunch but by now I felt we did not have enough time to spend there so instead we went to Claremont Landscape Gardens which is closer. We did a walk around the lake and Xena was getting very excited about all the geese, but she was on a lead all the time as is required there. It is looking very dry as it is weeks since we had rain, the grass is already losing it's green colour. We had a bit of thunder this afternoon and we did have some rain but it only lasted a few minutes.
We also did some online shopping for her grandchildren's birthdays that are coming up.
