A view from Jeanneb

Village view

Well it is a view over our village but it is barely visible for the trees and in amongst those trees is our house.

This is where we start and finish our ‘new’ early Thursday walk.
This shot is taken just before we (3 of us as others had split off) descended the field where an hour earlier we had climbed up.

At the bottom you can see the village cricket ground which we skirt before going through the gate to the now newly mown field which is a bit of a climb. You can see the path.

The long scrubby grass to the centre right often hides families of Deer which you might spot out grazing if you come early enough.
The hill in the distance is Birchlands which lies between the village of Wilsden and the hamlet of Hewenden.
To the left on the horizon is the dark plantation of Cottingley Woods where we walked yesterday before descending into Bingley.
The wood hides a Folly which was built as a view point for the Ferrands who owned the St Ives Estate behind us where we have just walked. I can remember it being visible when I passed here daily on the school bus (some years ago!) but it is well hidden now.

Guided tour ended!
The only picture I took this morning

A nice walk as ever in good company. Another hot day!
