Windswept

Memorial Day holiday.

I can't remember what we actually did all day, but late afternoon we headed out down Highway 1 about 20 minutes south of here. The beaches get steadily wilder and more deserted the further south you go.

Arrived at the parking lot and J was off over the dune to get his Kelly Kettle going (Man Makes Fire...not to be interfered with). R and I pretty quickly decided it was too windy, so headed back to the sheltered side. J gathered wood and set fire to stuff, R toasted marshmallows and I sat in my folding chair with a cup of tea. Everyone happy again.

These little flowers were more robust, and impressively hung in there on the windy side of the dunes.
