Honey, I'm home

I dropped J off at New Brighton Beach with the kayak and drove off.

Expected to get a call from somewhere - maybe back at New Brighton, maybe in Monterey - to collect him. But I'd just walked over to pick up R from a friend's house when he called to say he was home.

He'd kayaked round to our beach, put the wheels on and walked back home for a beer in the garden while he faffed with kayak kit. Nice.
