River of Flowers

Friday: #30DaysWild - Thank you to the Pollinators

There are tiny pods on the pea plants, that the plants are flowering is itself a miracle - the soil they are growing in is bone dry, I’ve watered it a few times but in the recent hot weather it soon dries out.
I should thank all the garden birds too, they are keeping grubs, slugs and snails off the plants with their constant hunting in this part of the garden.
These weren’t grown from traditional pea seeds but were leftover from making “mushy peas” - before I cooked them!

Today’s gardening job was to pot on 2 varieties of tomatoes:
Gardener’s Delight - https://www.sarahraven.com/products/tomato-gardeners-delight
And “San Marzano 2”  - https://seedsofitaly.com/tomato-san-marzano-naples/
I have a few other varieties of tomatoes growing as well and will pot them on in due course!
Weather hot and oppressive, I stayed in the shade of the fruit trees but it still felt very hot - MrD on deliveries said it was 27°C …!
There were spots of rain as I sat outside eating lunch, but no proper showers to wet the ground.
This afternoon I had horrible hay fever symptoms: headache, sneezing, streaming eyes and claggy throat not sure if this was caused by pollen from Cordyline flowers, elderflowers or just the oppressive air :-(
We had some very light rain this evening and the air feels fresher, hopefully more rain to come …
Wishing everyone a relaxing and enjoyable weekend XXXX XXX XX
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
