Raindrops
I think we had a little rain overnight but decided to water the courgettes anyway. After that we set off in the sun to meet our old neighbours. They are on holiday in North Devon and we arranged to meet in Knightshayes Gardens. Soon after we set off we came across rain, several bouts of it until we arrived at our destination. Our friends arrived a little later and spoke of a very heavy downpour on their way. We started to go out into the gardens but the sky quickly darkened and there was a heavy downpour. We retreated to the cafe for a drink and ended up staying there for over an hour while it continued to rain. In the end we took our umbrellas and headed for the main house and garden area.
After a quick look around the house we ventured outside as the rain had at last stopped. The vegetation was very wet and we were all mesmerised by the large collection of enormous allium flowerheads as they were glistening with raindrops. I would have loved to spend more time taking shots of these but a few quick ones are in extras. The main flower was very attractive doused with raindrops.
It was great to catch up with them and hopefully we will meet up again soon. When we arrived back home it was all very dry and my husband went out to water the allotment.
