MIDSUMMER WALK

Today the Wild Girls (look how wild they are!) had our midsummer walk and meal. For the first time we went during the day rather than the evening, and close to home in Greatham, the village which is the destination of Kath Gordon's lockdown and many other walks. One of our number is a Trustee of the Hospital of God charity, founded in 1273, who kindly let us start with coffee in their conservatory and then look inside their beautiful little Georgian chapel. I've been in there before during one of the Snowdrop walks which are also on the same site. Then another member of the group led us on a history walk around the village, something she has done for innumerable schoolchildren during her teaching career. We finished off with a pub lunch, and all in perfect summer weather.
