Jellyfish

Holiday 7, backblip
Another very hot day and we decided on a cycle near the coast and a visit to Muncaster Castle. A tiny bit of breeze near the sea (and cycling generates a bit) and a bit of shade at Muncaster.
Started at Ravenglass and rode to Drigg, with a diversion along a track to see a bit of estuary, and the intention was to return to Ravenglass. However, Mr Rat got a puncture when we got to the beach beyond Drigg and the heat made it impossible to fix so he ran the 5 miles back to the car while I did a wee bit more exploring on my bike. There were a lot of jellyfish coming under the railway bridge at Ravenglass.
Not the right time for most displays at Muncaster but did see the owls and raptors, and a couple of not-hungry herons, and had a pleasant wander in the woods.
Back at camp there was time for a shower before walking to one of the pubs for an excellent meal.
