Memories

Back blip.

A hectic day starting with a trip into Uttoxeter for an Audiology appointment for B. We also found a barbershop for him, but were unsuccessful in finding a launderette for the kitchen mats. We had a general wander to see what’s available.

Dinner was early at 4.30pm as we were going out with R & S. A booking for a wine tasting event, a trip down memory lane to Marlborough in New Zealand. We visited in 2007 and 2014 and did winery trips on both visits. There were about 25 people there this evening, all strangers to us, but a very sociable group.

The young man who lead the session was Australian, but had spent a lot of time working in the wine trade in the Marlborough region. The other gentleman in the picture is the store manager and is from New Zealand, the Hawke’s Bay Area, another NZ wine region in North island.

It was a great session. Very informative, generous servings of a variety of wines and great fun. I think that I drank more than I’ve done for a very long time. When we had finished we walked over to town for some food. A selection of tapas to share.

A taxi home, as we had all been drinking, was easily acquired. The car will be collected in the morning.
