Sunlight and shadows

This was taken at 5 o’clock this morning. Why I was awake at that ungodly hour I don’t know, after two very busy days I should have been flat out. 

I got up and made a cup of coffee and was gazing out of the window when I saw the shadows of the houses on the field outside and the crop glowing golden in the sunshine. 

The burst of energy didn’t last long. I went back to bed and slept until about nine o’clock. I’ve been lethargic all day, but we have managed to finish hanging the pictures in the dining room.
