Drawing from the Well: Ancient Connections
We had a wonderful picnic last night - the sun shone, the the moon came up and the rain held off. We sat surrounded by grassy meadow and ate delicious dips, spinach filo pie, funky salads and then strawberry tart and a mega fruit salad. Plus Pimms!
Not so sunny this morning but an early morning skype with Joe in NZ followed by trip to the Heron Gallery for an al fresco fringe event - part of the West Cork Chamber Music Festival. Very pleasant to sit in a flower-strewn garden listening to a bit of Mendelsohn followed by Swedish folk tunes! The quartet disturbingly all looked around 12 years old! Can we be getting older.
And a very exciting parcel arrived too today - courtesy of Ceridwen. Five beautifully produced chapbooks all about holy wells, pilgrimage and saints, each with a different creative theme - poetry , photography, story etc. There is a fantastic project going on Ancient Connections between Pembrokeshire in Wales and Wexford in Ireland, mainly featuring the pilgrimage that went on across the Irish sea and of course holy wells are involved. Ceridwen went to the launch and reported back. Thank you Ceridwen - another example of Blip being wonderful.
