Common Enchantments

Red

I think this is a male red bellied woodpecker that was at the bedraggled bird feeder.  Since we had all the rain the other day, the seed has started to sprout!   Tomorrow I will get out there and clean it all off and maybe go get some paint to refresh the feeder "house".

There was a piece of suet from the suet feeder here which I had to move from its hanging place because the squirrels were eating it instead of the birds.  They actually had chewed a section of wire from the cage in order to get their mouth in the cage easier.   There is no place I can hang it that they won't get to so I just stood it up against this little house on the big feeder.  it worked.

The job went okay today since it was just myself and the pastor.   The only glitch we had was when I let the choir director know the hymns he had chosen for the service and she said she did not know how to play  one of them and the choir did not have time to practice.  So he just changed it to one that they were more familiar with.     The church has a very small choir and the director is a volunteer.    Interesting times ahead for sure.

Still really hot here with temps in the low and mid 90's still.   Usual for the beginning of July.  Might be 100F on Sunday.

Maybe we should go to see Tate in the mountains for a few days.  Much cooler up there.
