Behind a Closed Door

I have never seen this door at Buckland Abbey open. It looks as though it is not often used. Wanting to see what lies behind a door, or on the other side of a wall, arouses our curiosity. It can also stimulate our imagination. I found myself imagining that somewhere deep inside the abbey might be a lost order of cistercian monks who might silently emerge in their white habits, blinking as they walked out into the bright sunshine!
