A Piano and a Pram

I’ve had a few unscheduled days off from Blip as the fibromyalgia fatigue has hit me like a train over the past couple of days.

My pain levels have been incredibly variable due to the wet, damp weather which has been followed by bursts of clammy, humid heat.

It was the birthday of one of my best friends today so I wished him Many Happy Returns via text, he is not a big birthday person so I respect that having known him for many years.

I have been continuing with my Samarathon July challenge for the local branch of the Samaritans. Paced walking with my physio Fischer sticks or lightweight walking stick and deciding what to wear for the variable weather has been a challenge!

I did approximately three miles today and spend most of the afternoon recovering and then went to bed for a couple of hours to recharge my batteries as I awoke very early this morning.

I had to go into town today to do a few errands and spotted today’s Blip in a charity shop.

My paternal grandmother bought my Mum a pram like this, a Silver Cross, for me as a baby only the one I was in was navy blue. I had a toy version of it too and it made me smile to spot it!

I dropped my walking stick whilst snapping it and a very kind woman picked it up for me because I was struggling to retrieve it from the shop floor.

I’m getting more accepting of dropping things when in and outdoors but there’s still intense twinges of frustration and a modicum of embarrassment at older folks helping me. I was very grateful for the helping hand though.

If you can, I would be very appreciative of a small donation to my Samarathon cause but zero pressure as I am very aware of the tough economic climate:

I had an email today for a follow appointment with the Pain Clinic consultant at the local infirmary for later this month which was welcome news.

I met someone over the weekend whom I like very much and going to see how things go as I’m very cautious by nature with a streak of spontaneity.

Very early days but we have spent some time together the last couple of days and I’ve enjoyed getting to know him. He has a good heart.

I plan to play catch up tomorrow with Blip tomorrow between other commitments.

Thank you very much as always for all your kind comments, encouragement, stars and hearts, they’re very much appreciated.

I’m so happy that I discovered this corner of the internet, it’s so warm, encouraging and supportive in comparison to social media.

I hope you’ve all had a terrific Tuesday :) xx
