An 80th Birthday and the Sad Loss of Sinead

I’ve been absent from Blip for far too long!

Lots going on and been feeling rather overwhelmed, achy, fatigued and trying to find a better balance.

Still attending the Pain Clinic and have a review appointment later this week. Life has been incredibly busy but I am aiming for productivity over pushing myself too much into further fibromyalgia fatigue.

It’s Mick Jagger’s 80th birthday today. I’m a big fan of The Rolling Stones.

I remember reading in a newspaper that he follows a healthy lifestyle and renounced drugs and alcohol approximately thirty years ago around the age of fifty, perhaps why he has continued to thrive both personally and as a musician. Obviously today’s Blip pic is not mine!

I am still undertaking the Samarathon paced walking challenge in aid of the local branch of the Samaritans.

I returned from my paced walk and food shop to the sad news of Sinead O’Connor’s untimely passing at the age of just 56.

Far too young, a sad waste of talent and she was a fibromyalgia warrior too.

I found it rather interesting that she was described in one article as “defiant” and do wonder if such an adjective would be used about a man even though I do not identify as a feminist.

I struggle with the term “troubled soul” which has been attributed to her as it has been to many others. I don’t think it’s very fitting for anyone, it seems like a label to me. We all have our troubles, that’s life.

Times are incredibly financially tough for most of us but I am rather disappointed that I have only raised £16 of my £150 target but I will persevere!

If you can afford to donate, it would be much appreciated. Here’s the link:

Will play catch up with Blip over the coming days, time and health allowing :) xx
