Cock O' the Bield

A day spent with friends at a retreat near Perth to give us some time to reflect. The house and dreading are set in magnificent grounds and parkland. A walled garden was a delight on the glorious sunny day where all the colours seemed extra vivid. And a bank of azalea - rivalling anything in the Botanics - was in perfect full bloom.

But I've been posting many floral blips recently so I thought something different. The deer I disturbed on a walk were too quick and then too distant. But this cockerel was happy to display his finery in the afternoon sunshine.

A relaxing and peaceful day rounded off with an evening of planting out seedlings.
