Glasgow bound....and back again...
BACKBLIP
My blip is on the road back again.
Quick visit to the Health Centre then on to Glasgow. I honestly can't remember when we were last in the centre of Glasgow for shopping purposes. It's been years. Funny to return to a place where we used to go every day for work. Seems like another lifetime.
As we drove along Cathedral Street we couldn't believe all the new buildings that have sprung up. It's the same on Dobbie's Loan opposite where my old office was. On what was a lovely piece of green space there now exists a massive building. I think it might be student accommodation for Caledonian University.
Thankfully the Buchanan Galleries still looked familiar and John Lewis still looked like John Lewis. On a mission to find curtain fabric for the front bedroom we headed straight to the cafe for lunch :-) That was a bit disappointing. No hot food, so an egg mayo baguette had to do.
A perusal of curtain fabrics and we found two that we really liked for the front bedroom and one for our own bedroom. I will order samples on line. Bought some new hand towels for the kitchen and enjoyed looking at sofas for the living room (that's next year's project.)
I would've like time to wander further into Buchanan Galleries but we were heading to Costco to re-join. I think it's been about 15 years at least since we were there. Not much had changed there. Still got massive trolleys so that it looks like you aren't buying much but actually you've spent a fortune! LOL!
Home just after 5pm to find Alan hadn't had the best day. He's been grinding his teeth (a sign of pain) and his cheek is swollen as a result. He's also been grumpy and tired the last few days. Definitely not himself. A phone call to the health centre in the morning to arrange a GP appointment is in order.
