Distraction

We did not have any plans today (apart from BP as I didn't go yesterday) but were contemplating a trip to Margate (weather looked rubbish and at least the Turner is inside).  M messaged and asked if we wanted to meet up with her and G for a walk in Shoreham.  We met at 3.00 and although it was really windy the sun stayed out and we had no rain.  They are good company and she is very supportive.  G and OH get on well and they walked ahead with the dog although we took a wrong turn and they ended up waiting for us for a while (OH didn't answer his phone and was less than happy when we were re-united in the shop - M commented that she had not seen that side of OH before.  Probably gets it from MIL).  It was a lovely walk and the lavender was beautiful and smelt wonderful.  We made a purchase in the shop and the assistant told me it was culinary lavender so i will save some for the lavender shortbread recipe which I have been keeping on my Pinterest board for ages! We finished the walk in the pub and had a few drinks - Scout was a 'babe' magnet for both sexes being such a beautiful well behaved dog!  A lovely afternoon with lovely friends and a perfect distraction.

No.1 spent the afternoon at the Bentley fete with JC and met up with my sister and cousin L and J.  Unfortunately Howard didn't win the waggiest tail competition but there were prizes for giant marrows?!

No.2 sent pictures from Long Island, sailing with H's family - looked amazing.

One more day to go.
