oh those welcome rest stops - just got to motel after 430 miles, 8 hours and it is 96F out.  on way to a special part of Idaho.  Crossed two divides, at least 200 miles of flat land, from barren and dry to farmed and yellowed wheat - many rivers beside you.  So from Seattle thru north of Idaho and now in Montana.  Big country out here - that and it is not new to me, but you never quite get over it.
