July 21
I had another photo I was going to use as my blip today, but it is still on my camera. My desktop computer is turned off and will remain off until these thunder and lightning storms have passed. The rain is pounding down again with flashes of lightning and some loud claps of thunder. A few of them even made the cats jump, and it normally doesn't bother them.
We worked this morning, then I had to go to my cousin's place to pick up some daylilies for an upcoming job (and some for myself too). While I was there the rain started and there was thunder in the distance. It rained most of the way home, but by the time I got back to Dartmouth it had stopped. I decided too unload the truck right away and just finished when the skies opened. I got wet just going the 20 feet from the truck to the house. It was around 3:30 when I got home, and it's 7:30 now. The rain let up a few times, then it pounds down again. A friend of mine posted a photo of her rain gauge and in 2 hours she received 2 inches of rain, it would have been the same here.
This storm is supposed to continue tomorrow and more rain on Sunday. A bit of a downer for all the outdoor events on this weekend. The last couple of days of the Indigenous Games, Multifest, the Pride parade and more. I had planned to go to pick up more plants tomorrow so I could have the next couple of weekends off, but if this weather continues, I won't be going anywhere.
It's been dark enough since about 5 pm that the solar lights on my deck have been on, and they usually don't come on till 9 pm at this time of year.
