Stunning Walk

A great day's walking along the River Broom, and then up along a fantastically deep gorge giving tremendous views. We took a circular route coming back across the hills giving further views of a misty Loch Broom. It's hard to capture the height of the waterfall and cliffs in the photos. This walk seemed to have everything views, challenge, beautiful trees and lots of fungi.
The walk is along a very well maintained path which was originally designed by a local landowner and famous engineer Sir John Fowler. The path was reinstated in 2015 after it had fallen into disrepair.
John Fowler is famous for designing many railways and the Forth Railbridge. There is even a wee mock up Forth Bridge at the start of the walk in Auchindrean.
