They're back!

I don’t know what gives it away, but there have been two very excited little girls threading their way around the stepping stone path at the back of our garden today, picking flowers, examining slugs and one of them even touching a wasp (fortunately without harm to insect or human). They've had a wonderful two weeks away, first in Devon and then in the Lake District, and were full of beans.

Granny and Grandpa, though, are now exhausted after the unaccustomed busyness of the past few hours. The last of the washing up has been accomplished, the toys have been put away and the evidence of the day’s visitors has been duly photographed to serve as today’s blip. 

Now the sofa beckons, which is not something that Smithers and I tend to ignore for much longer …
