Canadian Geese
The Lord is kind and merciful. Anyone who watched the eastern Virginia radar saw a terrible storm heading our way late afternoon yesterday. Not sure how it happened but by 5:00 pm the system had moved and neither us nor my grandson who was in Williamsburg saw any sign of a storm. My children in southern Maryland had rain but there was no evidence of wind damage when we got home today at 2:45 pm. My youngest daughter was in the storm’s path on her way home from her urologist but made it back safely before it started. My oldest daughter was at the National’s Stadium in DC attending a “Pink” concert. Pat Benatar opened for her. They got the worst of the storm but it passed through in time for the concert to be held, albeit a bit late. I am too old to be familiar with Pink but Kim videoed the last act (her flying around the stadium doing acrobatics while she sang) and it was amazing. Anyway, today. Our temps did not seem to be as bad. There has been a cooling breeze all day. We were up, packed and heading home by 10:40 am. The ride was uneventful other than these geese (and several more) that flew in front of us at a traffic light. I wasn’t prepared so it is a rotten picture. Hubby stopped at a shady spot along the route a couple times to rest when he got too sleepy to continue. The camper is emptied of the necessary items, my second of four loads of laundry is in the washer and we are both fading fast. Kim reminded me I am watching her pets Thursday-Sat/Sun so I have to get everything back in place by tomorrow. We leave again on 16 Aug so I created our menu plan and grocery list while the clothes washed. Life is short, have to take full advantage of the time we have left. But tonight, we will rest. Wishing you new adventures. Thanks for your visit. Stay safe. "Windy or not, a day this beautiful has to be lived. The day is bright and clear, the sky blue, and the dry air feels light. A northerly wind stirs a primal urge to move. The geese feel it, and so do I.” - CARL SAFINA
