Candy Apple Waxy Cap aka Hygrocybe Cuspidata

Hubby and I decide to get in one more bike ride this trip. We rode around every loop in the campground which was about three miles. We only did the loops once because we are expecting severe storms this evening. Hubby and I decided to put away anything outside that could be damaged or could damage the camper if we get the forecasted winds. To date this week, the predicted bad weather has missed us. Praying this will be what happens today. This small brightly colored mushroom caught my eye as we started the packing up task. It was definitely not there before the last rain. We aren’t leaving the camp site for the rest of the day, so it is my blip of choice. We are pretty much packed up now. It was horribly steamy by the time we finished. It is 90°F outside at the moment but it feels like 101°F. We hit the showers and then had lunch. I have a few things inside to do and hubby will have to connect the camper and truck in the morning before we roll. We plan to simply rest and read the rest of the day. If we get a tornado warning (are under a tornado watch until 9:00 pm), we are only a little ways from the sturdy bath house. Wishing you mild weather today. Stay safe. Thanks so much for dropping by. “The sudden appearance of mushrooms after a summer rain is one of the more impressive spectacles of the plant world.” - John Tyler Bonner
