Today would’ve been Mum and Dad’s 65th wedding anniversary, their Blue Sapphire Anniversary. A year ago today we were saying only one more year until an anniversary card from the then Queen. So much has changed within the last year, so much. Thankfully Dad hasn’t remembered the significance of today...


Warm 22degree sunshine brought swarms of flying ants out today, the Sparrows had a field day. Dragged myself out of bed to be ready for the emergency roof repair at 8am, engineer due anytime between then and 5pm. Mid afternoon the subcontractor phoned to say the engineer had been held up and wouldn’t be here until between 6pm and 8pm. At 6pm the contractor phoned to say the subcontractor had phoned to say he wouldn’t make it today! A new subcontractor has been appointed and promises to come tomorrow afternoon. Sigh...
