Cruise Day Seven
We didn't arrive in Budapest till lunchtime, and after lunch we set off on various trips. We had the best guide ever - very funny and sarcastic and told us lots about life in Hungary, including trying to teach us some Hungarian. Their alphabet has 44 letters!
We drove around the city and got out at viewpoints. What a fabulous city! Definitely worth a visit again. We have been here before, and did walk around quite a bit (back when my knees worked). The gentle rivalry between the two sides of the river was amusing. We then ended up at a fabulous old school (no kids) where we had a piano recital which was marvellous. He was a famous pianist, though I forget his name. (Csaba Király)
Back to the boat and the usual rush to get ready for the talk before dinner (disembarkation instructions this time). A jovial dinner with the gang, then boat sailed around the river so that we could see all the wonderful buildings. What a city!! Back to the lounge bar for entertainment - Hungarian dancers. Wow! Such energy.
So I'm actually writing this on Thursday morning in the lounge. People are waiting to be taken to the airport, but we have rather a long wait. In fact, we have our lunch here first, and don't arrive home till late. But the Aussies have a much longer journey...
It's been a great trip!
