England are through to the final

A lovely young man came to talk to us about solar panels this morning.  We had a long chat with him, then he went outside, looked at the roof and the trees in the garden and was very positive about designing a system to suit the house and our needs.  This afternoon another chap came to look at our windows.  He measured them up and went away to prepare a quote for double glazing.  In between times MrMacD made soup with the pumpkin we roasted yesterday, then we drove into town to pick up some items we’d ordered and do a shop at the Bin Inn-type shop where you can fill your own containers.  I managed to get a load of washing out on the line where it blew merrily in the sunshine.  The wall lights we’d ordered for the second bedroom arrived, so after lunch MrMacD studied the instructions and, after a lot of fiddling, managed to install one of them.  He said the second one will be easier to do tomorrow.  I puréed the second pot of soup (it was a large pumpkin) and put it all into containers to freeze, although I did keep one out for lunch tomorrow.  Then I did the big clean up and brought the washing in before the temperature started to drop.  It was 5:45pm before we managed to get out for a walk.  We’re trying to incorporate hills during our walks to help with our fitness so we went up and down about four hills tonight.  It was lovely walking around in the dark with the street lights on and also lights in some of the houses we passed by.  We’re walking different streets as often as possible so we get to find our way around.  We didn’t see a train tonight.

We watched the semi final between Australia and England, even though it didn’t start until 10pm.  It was an very exciting game with the final result England 3 - 1 Australia.  England are through to the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final on Sunday.

I took photos of various buildings we walked past and also the fountain in the Oamaru Public Gardens.  There’s a house lit up in a bright green; St Luke’s Anglican Church; the old AMP building; and the fountain.
