Ups and downs

Today we started our return journey westwards and despite the rain we enjoyed the views and the ups and downs of the wonderful road from Cockbridge to Tomintoul. The heather this year seems particularly colourful and the hillsides were a glorious purple. We stopped before Tomintoul to have a walk through the woods to the Glenmulliach viewpoint. On the way, we came across the unusual sign in my extra. I’m not sure whether I was happy or disappointed not to come across any boars. When we reached the viewpoint I was definitely not happy to come across midges for the first time in our holiday!
