Carol's ramblings

Another touristy day

This morning we (me, hubby, our daughter/SIL and the boys) decided to visit the local National Trust location, Watersmeet, they have looked after this location since1934, I have visited as a child with my parents and again with my husband before we married.

It is the East Lyn river, set in beautiful woodland. We took the shorter 1.5 mile walk, the boys managed really well. The paths varied in size and condition, some flat, some tree roots, some rocks/shail and a little uneven at times. They had great fun, adults worn out too. Stopped at the cafe for lunch.

After lunch, straight on to the Wood Bay Station (www.Lynton-rail.co.uk) - it is the highest railway station in suthern England. Only steam railway in the uk where you travel on the original coaches (built 1890’s). It’s a 2 mile journey, great fun.

Back home for tea then after some play bath and bed for the grandchildren - they were all worn out today.
