An essential mission to Kendal, but note to self . . . always check opening times on company website or risk walking the streets for an extra half hour. Didn’t feel like buying a coffee today.

On my left as I took the photo is New Shambles, a narrow lane with lots of small shops. The information plaques say they were originally all butchers.
