Kelpie selfie (nostrils)
Our visitors were keen to see the kelpies at Falkirk today, so this morning we ventured by car to Helix Park. Here we had a lot of fun photographing ourselves with the sculptures, as can be seen in my blip.
The main destination of the day, however, was the pretty village of Culross. There was a short wait until we could gain timed entry to the palace, so we took advantage of the delay to eat our picnic outside on a bench. We very much enjoyed our time in the National Trust for Scotland property, learning about the fortunes of the village and its inhabitants. The palace garden was beautiful too.
Back home again, Clarissa had a lie down while Mr Fox, Mr hazelh and I played Catan. Mr hazelh won the first game, and I the second. Then it was time for our last Fringe event together. This was Planetarium lates: Pink Floyd's Dark side of the moon - with cocktails. Even Mr hazelh, who doesn't really know the album, appreciated the multimedia experience of the 'illustrated' rendition of the whole album.
This evening's fun began with the first proper digging of our home-grown potatoes. Then it was time for dinner (including potatoes), and a couple of rounds of the 60th birthday game.
Tomorrow our guests move on to the second part of their two-centre Edinburgh holiday. This will give us some space to prepare for our own departure north at the weekend. We will, however, see the Foxes again tomorrow evening.
Exercise today: small amount of walking (6504 steps).
