Wednesday: Yarrow
Temperature around 16°C with drizzly rain off and on all morning, which turned to continuous rain all afternoon - finally clearing around 6pm and it got dark quite early this evening …
Made a pan of Chilli Con Carne for MrD's dinner, ingredients from freezer and store cupboard. He was on deliveries all day and the chilli warmed him up this evening :-))
Picked another fig - total now 6
Also 2 courgette from the new plants - total now 10 from 3 plants :-)
I have a few yarrow plants growing in pots, it’s very unusual for them to flower BUT looks like the rainy weather is to their liking.
There are lots of light birds around the garden: population explosion of house sparrows - there are dozens of them :-)) Also blue tits, great tits, black birds, a strange little warbler and the house martin chicks have fledged and are soaring above!
Sadly, all the bees seem to have disappeared, haven’t seen any for a week or more but there are many insects around which are biting me … :-(( it’s a very strange summer weather wise and forecast is for more of the same.
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
