River Lights
I've been horrible at posting and commenting lately. I think many of us have ebbs and flows when we've been members of Blip for so many years, more than 10, but trying to stay connected as I do love seeing all your photos and hearing about what's going on in your lives. So forgive my lack of consistency please.
I've been curious about the community along the River in Wilmington. We also needed a gift certificate for a friend who is having a birthday. So we took care of both. The community is lovely and has a little cafe called Getaway Cafe, Gift Certificate purchased and then we took a walk along the Cape Fear River flats on a boardwalk kind of set up. There was a nice cool breeze and lots of trees but the community is way out of our financial reach which is fine, nice place to visit, not our type of place.
Later in the day we attended the Ice Cream Social and kick off for the adult learning classes offered at UNCW for the fall semester. Lots of interesting classes and we've signed up for a few both virtual and in person. Most are taught by faculty current and retired or retired professors from other colleges. Art In Our World is one of them as well as a historic walk through a cemetery with a Civil War History and a 4 week class on Resilience. Most are 4-6 weeks and there are even paddle board and Tai Chi and of course pickle ball which would never be a first choice for me. There are kayaking classes too which do sound interesting. Just be nice to get some good conversations and learn something new hopefully.
