What a day!

Early start to get Phin walked and us all ready to head to Glasgow for the ‘not so secret’ performance taking place at 12.30. As we were a bit early we were heading to Glasgow Green to give Phin a walk when we passed Alexandra park so we stopped there instead. It was a lovely walk past the pond and through the woods.

There’s a singer from Glenrothes, Cammy Barnes who was recently on Britains Got Talent and as he has just released his new single, wanted to publicise it with a wee performance today. He’d apparently seen Rock Choir perform at a rugby match previously so got in touch with the powers that be and voila we were invited along to join him. The song is a tribute to his baby daughter and can be downloaded from various streaming services and is a really lovely wee tune.

There were about a 100 of us and it was lovely to sing in the sunshine. We sang the song twice and whilst Cammy was talking to his fans, we sang Shallow which seemed to go down well.

Phin was very well behaved despite the crowds and only tried the tiniest lick of the hand of a woman who pushed in front of the dog to get a better view. She wasn’t too pleased but Mr PHL stood his ground and told her the dog had been there first.

After we were finished I decided to try and get a selfie with Cammy and was a little frustrated that some of my fellow choir members saw that there was a queue and simply pushed in front. The 3 girls in the background of my extra shot were obviously fans and just waited so patiently, I hope they got their pictures eventually.

We headed off to find some lunch and cake across Mowgli, a branch of a chain of Indian street food restaurants which was dog friendly. A delicious (if calorie laden) lunch was quickly consumed and after a brief stop in the art shop we headed back to the car.

Phin was exhausted and slept all the way home before retiring to his bed when we got home. We did a short loop round Newbattle before dinner and bumped into Paz and Ramos so the boys enjoyed a quick run around.

A light dinner and I’m thinking of a celebratory glass of wine as it was such a lovely day.
