Friday: Blue Ridge Parkway

We’ve had an excellent stay in Asheville but time to move on.  After a good breakfast, we left town to drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to Blowing Rock.  

The drive was wonderful, very gentle and meandering.  In total, it runs over 400 miles but our trip of a few hours today gave us a great sense of it.  There were lots of wonderful views to enjoy and we also walked/hiked (see yesterday’s debate) to Linville Falls.  

Blowing Rock is very sweet.  We had an excellent meal of ribs (for me) and beef brisket (for K) with wonderful accompaniments such as mac and cheese,  collard greens etc.
