Stowfield
About 11,30am we set off on a cycle ride with our good friends and neighbours Archie and Jane. The first stop was a charming cafe at a campsite at the top of The Doward, Ross on Wye, Herefordshire UK for a cuppa in the sunshine.
The ride continued over forestry tracks to Coleford in The Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire where I took the aerial photo' of Stowfield Quarry. Reminds me of the one from our previous home in Machen, Nr Caerphilly (South Wales). A big scar on the landscape but no doubt in the future it'll be returned to nature.
The ride continued to Staunton where we had a cold drink at The White Horse pub, continuing home via forest tracks back through Symonds Yat to Goodrich, Herefordshire........a total 27 miles.
Another couple of hours followed sat in our garden watching the sunset - and what a lovely one it was, too. They didn't go home until 8.30pm but a great way to spend a Sunday. Good weather to continue next week, apparently!
