Early walk by the river Avon

From Crews Hole to Hanham. Over 6 miles in all. Somebody claims to have seen a crocodile in the river, so we were looking for that (a bit like the Loch Ness monster I guess).  We were also looking for kingfishers, which really do live there.  No luck, but we did see a lot of herons, flying in their languid, flappy way; and standing precariously in branches. One in the extra, if your eyes are good. 
In the afternoon my football team beat Manchester United, which made me feel very happy.
