Carrifran wildwoods , mr Moffat

Such an encouraging story of over half a million trees planted by thousands of supporters all in the cause of regeneration of the mixed woodland that developed after the last ice age . We had a wonderful walk up the valley, in the glorious sunshine and enjoyed spotting all the different varieties of trees that are know to have existed about 10,000 years ago . Most had disappeared due to heavy grazing by wild goats , deer etc .
