Contemplating....
We were on a very early Eurotunnel train this morning and arrived in the UK at 7am. After a very disappointing start to the day, we've ended up with a few interesting options that were totally unplanned! One thing that was planned was our lovely hotel on the beach in Rottingdean, just along the coast from Brighton. We'd booked a sea view, but were nicely surprised that we had a balcony, and I love this photo of Alan contemplating the future.
The first house we went to see was overpriced and too far out of town. Then after a few cancellations, and houses we wouldn't want to live in, we met a very nice Estate Agent called Mark. He told us about a house that's in the process of being renovated and which he felt would be more suited to us, and contacted the owner to arrange for us to see it - it's really nice and is now one of the top on our list. Mark then mentioned another house in Newhaven, a town a little further down the coast which we hadn't even considered, and which is his mum's house. He said he felt we were the right kind of people for his mum, which was quite a compliment!
So we went to Newhaven and were very impressed - it's a fantastic house with a view of the bay of Seaford. His mum is lovely and made us feel very much at home, but now we have a bit of a dilemma! We love the house, but it's more of a commute to work for Alan.
We finally got back to the hotel about 7pm and had dinner and a nice bottle of wine while reflecting on the day - there's a lot to think about, but we've got a 'day of rest' tomorrow, and then more viewings on Monday when we'll have to make a decision before we leave for home - wish us luck!
