Keeping Balance

Since my return home, I noticed a prolific increase in the number of mourning doves and also today the return of wood ducks.

It was pretty dull and I stayed a long way back to avoid scaring them, so the image is not a great one. But I was so pleased that they have come back.

These appear to be immature specimens and don't yet have their full glorious plumage. Hopefully, they will be here in the spring looking their best.

I noticed the wood ducks like to perch on logs in the water. I'm not sure what type of ducks are beyond them because I couldn't get a clear view.
