Northeast Scotland in September?

We are spending three nights at one of our favourite campsites at Delnies Woods near Nairn. The site is quite an old one with no glistening modern facilities but we love the mature conifers which dictate the size and location of the pitches, and give welcome shade from this unexpected spell of hot weather.
From here we headed east to Lossiemouth on the coast where we found beautiful beaches, discovered also by a number of other folk who were enjoying various water activities. I have never seen so many people on a Scottish beach, also enjoying the opportunity to dip a toe (or more) into the North Sea.
