He’s here!

Out on the mountain paths with MrKT today.
Started early (for us) in the chilly air - hats and fleece required. We soon warmed up as we headed passed a reservoir then up, up, up to Refugio de L’Epee - perfect stopping place for a coffee and to take in the views. Our path down was the route up for the Tor des Geants, we were too early to see anyone there yet. But as we stumbled down we could not imagine wanting to run up it - and certainly not in the dark (which most of them will do).
In the evening we headed down to the village below us to the first ‘Life station’ for the TDG - this is a check point for the runners with the chance to refuel, shower, get a massage, change of clothes, and a snooze. Giles arrived at 11pm, having started at 10am. He was rather cold and shakey so we were a bit worried about him. But he got on with it, slept a bit and headed out at 2.30am. We went to bed!!
