Sunshine on Leith
We had breakfast at The Dome - which I don't think is as good as it seems to believe itself to be - and then we took a stroll back down to Leith.
Bob always does a great job of curating our trips, and I particularly enjoyed the three pubs we went to during the day: Persevere; Malt and Hops; and Teuchters Landing. I'd recommend all three.
I seem to have been lucky with the weather on all my visits to Scotland, lately, and today was no different, hence the somewhat predictable title of today's post.
It is a great song, and one that I love - the two don't necessarily go hand in hand - but it has the added poignancy that it was sung, in a wonderful arrangement by a choir, at Simon Ricketts' funeral.
What a tremendous man he was. I only met him in person twice, but on both occasions he was just as charming, funny, intelligent, and gracious as his online presence promised.
