Another Point of View

I'm not sure what I expected from visiting Londonderry but it wasn't what I experienced. There is a lot of history here, but there was also the overwhelming feeling of bigotry and that nothing much has changed - still a battle between the two religions. The dominant presence of antagonism is there - that all the past is constantly brought to the present, no-one is allowed to let events stay in the past and move forward to improve.
We both felt most uncomfortable in Derry so, after viewing a few museums and buildings, decided to leave the city.

We did see a gathering of motorcyclists, quite impressive, and with the bands marching along too.

There is definitely a contrasting atmosphere in this country - British but not really.
