A grand day out

In spite of the non stop rain Islay and I had a super trip to Connel near Oban to meet up with Oban friends for lunch. Not a great fan of being in the car Islay nevertheless hopped in very enthusiastically having worked out that the destination usually outweighs the tension of the journey. We stopped twice, the second time I had hoped to do the part of the Glen Ogle trail that goes over the impressive viaduct, once part of the Callander to Oban railway, we ran out of time and will return another day when the weather is better.

A delicious lunch at Poppies and another walk accompanied by M, who took Islay’s photo, through the forestry trail at Feanoch and the remarkable wood ants.

Back to Doune for boiled eggs, minus the egg cup, they seem to have every other kind of culinary equipment.
