Pointy hats
Katie and I went for a swim this morning at the pool in our hotel after having breakfast. It was 37 degrees before 9am. During the day it went up to 42 degrees.
When we walked into town at mid-day it was unbearable. It was quite a long walk to all the good taylor shops. We tried to find somewhere with air con for lunch but they only have fans and when we found somewhere the electricity was apparently off everywhere. Our sandwiches that we ordered were rather dodgy. Katie's had quite a few ants in hers!
There were masses of markets along the riverfront with fruit and vegetables.
We found a place too cool down and order a shake. Annie and Katie had coffee with hazelnut ice-cream and I just had a banana and chocolate shake. They were the best ones we have had so far!
There are soooo many taylor shops in Hoi An. I wasn't planning on getting anything made but I had a rough idea of a dress so I asked how much it would be to make for a black chiffon and silk dress! They measured me and I had to pay a 500,000D deposit. Everything takes less than 24 hours. We bought some fruit from the side of the road. The lady gave us one of her fruits to try. It was soooo good so we bought a kilo of them. They were so hard to peel and we completely stained the sheets on our bed.
We went swimming in the evening and ordered food by the side of the pool. Katie and I shared Wontons and Spring rolls. Wontons are the best Vitnamese food we have tried so far. We swam and chatted to this big guy in the pool for an hour or so!
