Tea For Two

Post dinner cup of tea, sitting on the terrace, overlooking the Bay of Naples, whilst being serenaded by a man at the piano. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to do it.
It’s been a long day though. The alarm went off at 1am and we were on the road to Manchester Airport by 3am. Quite rainy on the way down, but it had cleared up by the time we got there - very cold though at 4.30 in the morning.
The actual process of getting here has been pretty much trouble free (twenty minute delay on the flight) though the coach transfer from Naples Airport to Sorrento was a bit hair raising at times - our coach driver certainly lived up to the “Italian driver” stereotype.
Our room is nothing special, but we can’t fault the levels of service and tonight’s dinner was excellent. I may have to dial it back a bit as the week goes on, or all the previous five years hard work in the gym will be totally undone!
An early night beckons as we’ve been up for nigh on 20 hours now. There is a welcome meeting tomorrow morning to tell us what is on offer by way of tours and excursions, but the forecast is thunderstorms for most of the day, so I’m not sure what we’ll end up doing. Maybe catch the courtesy bus into Sorrento town centre to see what’s what. Or maybe just have a day of total chilling…
