Trombley

Here’s Trombley! He was “born” in Glens Falls, NY, approximately 35 years ago. He’s named after the friend we were visiting when we purchased him. Originally a crow pal was perched on his hat but it has since “departed” to the great crow farm in the sky • I’m guessing Trombley is the most well-traveled scarecrow on record, if such a thing existed. Over 35 years he’s lived in 5 houses in 3 states: NH, TX, ME. His preference is a colder climate because he’s a big fan of flannel shirts. The brighter the better, and skip the straw stuffing because he says it’s itchy! • We worked in the garden harvesting a bag of scallions, and two bags of potatoes. Sadly, only a handful of small potatoes, the rest rotted from too much rain. In the ground we still have leeks and more scallions but we’ll hold off 2-3 more weeks with an eye on nighttime temperatures • Hard to believe this is the last week of September!
