Lemmings
Mini-getaway to Kiama, courtesy of two free Accor nights to use up at the Sebel. It's always nice driving through the Southern Highlands but we didn't stop as we were aiming for Minnamurra Rainforest which comes just after the steep descent. Despite the school holiday hordes, it was totally magical, wonderful to be in a rainforest again. We managed the steep climb to the falls (extras) and gorge, making it to Kiama in good time.
Good enough to see the famous Kiama blowhole which was very exciting, but better the next day (after I'd researched the timing), so scroll on to tomorrow to see that pic!
The headland is quite spectacular, being composed of latite, a black basaltic looking volcanic rock. People were swarming all over it - the water was actually fairly tame so I guess there was no need to pay any attention to all the warning signs!
