Day 12 of the trip - sudden beauty

At the end of the day we reached our friends’ home - a welcome pause in our travels.  
It was something of an epic drive over several passes, round countless bends, past verdant forests, arid areas, and flowing rivers, and dammed lakes. And I’d always thought Portugal was a flat country!
But before the epic stuff started we stopped for lunch in a green field by the road. And there I found these wild crocus just growing in the grass!
Suddenly seeing unnoticed beauty is a magic moment!
Three nights in the same place now, with old friends. Luxury!
